With direct supervision is able to complete assigned duties which may include cleaning, inspection, and assembly of optical components to required tolerances using defined production procedures. Technician must be able to properly use micrometers, calipers, microscope, comparators and other inspection equipment as necessary. REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent. No prior experience in precision optics manufacturing, 1+ years of related manufacturing experience. Excellent manual dexterity in relation to handling small parts (10 mm). Moderate math ability. Requires sitting for extended periods of time. Demands intensive concentration and patience.
Ability to complete assigned duties which may include shaping, grinding, or polishing optical components to required tolerances using defined production procedures. Able to operate production shaping, or grinding, or polishing equipment involving a standardized sequence of related operations. Technician must be able to properly use micrometers, calipers, drop gages, comparators and other inspection equipment as necessary.
